Blogging, not writing!
I’ve been writing. A lot. Trying to get book four in ahead of time. It’s nearly there, but a couple of scenes are not playing ball. Also, next week I am giving my first author talk! Very exciting. And I am judging entries in a competition for the first time. Eeck! Having never entered competitions before I think I’m just as nervous as if I was a contest entrant. I really want to do a good job. There’s nothing better than helping a new writer on their way and I just hope I know enough about what I’m doing to do the entrants justice!
Also I am coming off the back of three weeks school holidays so I’ve had heaps to do. Am looking forward to getting my routine back. It’s all too easy to use the lack of productivity on the loss of normal routine but… that’s just an excuse. I was flicking through Bear Grylls latest book “mud, sweat and tears” and came across an old – but a good – quote. Fortune favours the Brave. It made me think about just how hard I had worked to get my first book published after being asked to submit the manuscript and that when I am at the point (like now) of thinking that I have no hope of being published again I just have to suck it up and get on with the job. Procrastination comes in all forms! You just have to recognise it and defeat it.
And on that note… I’m off to the cave for a bit of editing! Have a great night – or day – depending where you are in the world!
Oh, check out new cover for book three. I love it!
